Potash Processing Line - PM Services
Horizon provided PM services for a $50 million potash processing line addition with a major potash producer in Saskatchewan. Our PM was seconded to work as part of the Owner's project team. Duties included development of the control budget / schedule and coordination of engineering, procurement, safety, construction management, and commissioning activities. The project was a fast-track project that the team was able to safely deliver on time.
Potash Processing Line - Engineering Services
As a seconded employee to the clients mechanical engineering group, our consultant prepared detailed design and technical bid packages for mechanical equipment for a potash processing line addition. Equipment included bucket elevators, conveyors, mineral screens, fluid bed cooler, and wet scrubber system. Work included preparation and review of technical specifications, support during tender period, and technical evaluations of final bids.
Plant Capacity Increase - Engineering and PM Services
Horizon is assisting a major Ag-industrial client to increase capacity in their facility by up to 15%. Initial work included an efficiency study. working with the plant staff to identify process bottlenecks and determine the greatest opportunities for improvement. Once the opportunities were approved - detailed engineering and project coordination of the work was completed. The project is currently in construction with Horizon providing construction bid packages, procurement, bid evaluation, construction coordination and contract administration to safely execute the on-site work.
Dust Hazard Analyses
Horizon has completed several Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA) related to NFPA 61 Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities. These studies have been completed for new construction permit approval as well as existing facilities requiring a recent DHA as part of their safety and risk management programs.
Aquatic Facility Upgrade - Engineering and PM Services
When the Travelodge in Saskatoon wanted to replace their aging waterslide and upgrade their aquatic facility, Horizon provided the initial option selection and capital cost estimates for the client to review. With the selected design of two new waterslides, new whirlpool, and new kiddie pool, Horizon executed the detailed engineering and project management services. The finished project provided and exciting new look and aquatic park for their guest to enjoy year round.
